Easy Popup Windows

I never expected that well over 200,000 people would be using the smart clip. I am no longer able to give "one on one" support for the component. Please use the links included below for related support.

The most common questions are:

1. Why can't I see the User Interface in Flash MX? Download the Flash MX version.
------------------------------
2. Why do I get a second window with [Object]? You are getting this because you cannot run javascript from within the Flash program itself. you must first publish the movie, then test it from an html page. It will not work in Projector, either - no javascript commands will.

3. Can I use multiple instances of the smart clip or can I add addition actions to the smart clip, such as control a separate movie clip? Yes! See the tutorial on my support site. It includes an example .fla.

4. Where is the Custom User Interface? This might be a Mac issue with the Extension Manager. Anyhow, look in the flash\libraries subdirectory there should be a subdirectory inside it called "easy popup UI" with easypopupUI.swf inside that. When you select Clip Parameters from within Flash, it should be opening that .swf instead of the standard dialog box. If the folder/file is not there, the download that is available at Flashkit (see link below) has the Easy Popup Windows Smart Clip in both extension format and traditional .fla/.swf format. Install easypopupUI.swf into Flash 5\Libraries\easy popups UI (or the Mac equivalent).

5. How can I use multiple instances of EPW (to open multiple windows)? Make the EPW invisible (by defining only the hit state). Then place the EPW over any symbol you want.
